Air is dissolved under pressure into part of the treated water and then released again under atmospheric pressure. The fine bubbles generated by this process attach to suspended solids in coagulated and mixed wastewater. The suspended solids with attached bubbles rise to the liquid surface, are collected by a scraper, and clarified treated water is obtained.
