It is made from tap water, sodium hypochlorite, and diluted hydrochloric acid.
Because it is mildly acidic, the same as human skin, with a pH value of 5.5 - 6.5, it can be used safely.
It has higher disinfecting performance than alcohol, and its disinfection effect against influenza and norovirus has been recognized.

The ratio of available chlorine, hypochlorous acid, changes greatly depending on pH.
Hypochlorous acid (HClO), which has a high disinfecting effect, is almost not present at pH 9 - 10. Hygienic Water is adjusted to pH 5.5 - 6.5, where the ratio of available chlorine is high and it is gentle on human skin.

Hypochlorous acid water has a disinfecting effect against Escherichia coli O-157, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, and Bacillus cereus.
The usefulness of sodium hypochlorite has been shown against influenza virus and norovirus. Hypochlorous acid, which is said to have a higher disinfecting effect than sodium hypochlorite, is also considered useful against influenza virus and norovirus.

Hypochlorous acid water has a slight chlorine-like odor, but it looks the same as water. Although it cannot be produced without a dedicated manufacturing machine, false information such as "it can be easily made by yourself" has spread. Also, even if a product is labeled "hypochlorous acid water," imitation or counterfeit products may be on the market whose ingredients are calcium hypochlorite or sodium hypochlorite. - Manufacturing method
There are broadly two methods for manufacturing hypochlorous acid water. One is a method of electrolyzing saline solution or similar liquid. The other is a method of adjusting the pH of sodium hypochlorite.
Hygienic Water is made by adjusting sodium hypochlorite to pH 5.5 - 6.5.
*Only hypochlorous acid water made by electrolysis is approved as a food additive.
*This product is completely different from diluted household chlorine-based disinfectants, such as Kitchen Haiter.
