Transparency Testing Tube

This instrument is used to measure the transparency of water from rivers, lakes, wastewater treatment facilities, and similar locations. Pour the sample water into the graduated tube and gradually drain it while looking down from the top at the target plate on the bottom. When the double-cross pattern on the target plate becomes clearly visible, read the height of the water column to determine the transparency.

Transparency is expressed in degrees, with 1 cm of water column corresponding to 1 degree.
